Thanksgiving Fun

Before we headed up to the Kendalls for the traditional feast, we took a family outing and went ice skating at the kids' school. Our kids have NEVER ice skated before ~ I Know! We live in Alaska, and we never go. But this year is our year! First grade and up can ice skate at recess, so I got ice skates last spring at Walmart for $8! Couldn't beat that! And Jason & I really want to get some, so that is in the works. But they loved it! I think xx-skiing last year definately helped out with their balance, cause they did great! I made them wear their helmets since I didn't know how well they would do. I know . . . paranoid . . . I'm a nerd. But lots of kids in Kali's grade were playing hockey and they were GOOD. So we might just pick up some sticks & puck and mess around. Watch out Uncle Ryan!

Busy Weekend

This weekend was a very busy weekend, but very exciting! Kali waited to get baptized so Jason's parents could be here for both baptism and blessing. So she was baptized on Halloween in the morning, then we had the typical Halloween fun and then Sunday Nash was blessed. Either I'm super hormonal after having a baby or I am turning into a boob, cause this weekend was an emotional one for me. Celebrating the baptism of our first and the blessing of our last. Exciting times! I took this picture of Nash while he was sleeping, I love it when they dream . . . too cute!

A little Chuckle

I laugh at how newborn clothes really fit 'newborns'! This was supposed to be his hospital outfit, but it literally drowns him! What you can't tell is that his pants are clear up to his chest, and the hat covers his whole face!! And when he squirms, his arms will somehow work their way back inside the onesie!! But it is cute nonetheless! Before I know it he won't fit in them anymore . . . and those are always sad days!!

This Was Pretty Cool

Kali & Meg had their Cross Country Running Jamboree tonight with the local elementary schools. And while we were waiting for Kali to finish in her race, we chatted with Sarah & Todd Palin {oh yeah . . . we're on first name basis . . . lol}. Her daughter Piper was in the same race with Kali, and I just couldn't resist getting a picture with her . . . even IF I am about to pop! {FYI, I do NOT enjoy pictures of me while I am pregnant, but Sarah was worth it! haha}

Kali . . . Really!?

So yesterday Meg was playing with a 9yr old neighbor friend who is visiting, while Kali was at school. Apparently Meg had told her a secret of Kali's that NO ONE was supposed to EVER know. Meg told this girl that Kali has a BOYFRIEND!!! So when Kali came home from school, off she went to ride scooters with them.

NOT EVEN five minutes later, Meg comes storming mad into the house and yells "LOOK AT WHAT KALI DID TO ME!!!!!" "AND THIS IS MY FAVORITE DRESS!!!"

Come to find out, the girl immediately said to Kali in a dramatic voice "YOU have a boyfriend?!" Kali immediately looks at Meg and says "you promised NOT to tell anyone" . . . and PUNCHED MEG IN THE NOSE . . . so hard that she was bleeding!!!! (it was all over her dress, an Meg insists that Kali punched her TWICE)

I guess this was a secret from two years ago, that ONLY a sister was supposed to keep! We sure had a LOT to talk about and cover with the girls after this happened!

After the girls went to bed, Jason filled me in on the WHOLE story and we LAUGHED so hard for SO long!! See, this kind of behavior we would completely expect from Meg to punch someone in the nose, but Kali on the other hand, she floored us with that one!!! I'm sure this is a memory that they will NEVER forget!!

mmmmm . . .

I am ♥LOVING♥ my garden!! This year is SO much better . . . AND NO SLUGS . . . (so far)! My strawberries are HUGE and keep coming, and the bees are back in town so I don't have to make my zucchini do 'you know what'. Now I just am waiting on my tomatoes and carrots.

Salmon

We took a trip this weekend down to Soldotna, about a three hour drive south, to catch some fish.  We stayed with some friends that spoiled us and let us drop in last minute.  While Jason dipnetted from the beach, the kids and I went to the local parade and played with friends.  On our way home, we stopped in Hope to fish for Pink Salmon.  We don't like to eat pinks, so it was strictly catch and release and let the kids get the feel for fishing with a pole.  It was too cute!  They each caught a few, and would've stayed longer, but daddy was famished, so off we went.  It was a great weekend, and the kids were so glad their dad took them fishing!!!
