***READING COULD BE HAZARDOUS TO YOUR HEALTH***
{or appetite}
Many of you have read that I enjoy gardening and my thumb has lately turned green. But now I have mixed feelings. I love being able to watch things grow and be able to go to the back yard to pick something and eat it, especially lettuce. With all the rain we have had, we haven't been able to mow our lawn; the chickweed is out of control, and now the slugs are ATTACKING my garden. This was just today, the other day I {NO LIE} killed 40-50!!! I get so creeped out by these things. They DISGUST me! I brought a cabbage inside, and twenty minutes later, one was crawling out of it! Ahhhhhhhhh. This is insanity! Salt has become my friend as well as the phrase "die . . . die . . . die" {with a vengeance}. Even watching the salt eat their bodies, making them bubble, and excrete nasty slime in a trail as they try to escape was disturbing. I've had dreams about these suckers. They give me the willies. I'll take forcing my zucchini to have sex ANY DAY over dealing with slugs!! My neighbor told me to go buy beer and leave it outside. I guess they like it and they drown. So if any of you see me at the liquor store, shhhh . . . don't tell the Bishop!!

Lisa!!! I never knew you were such a gardener and that looks truly disgusting. How do you like it in ER? We have been looking at houses out there- semi-seriously for a couple of months. Hope to see you sometime soon! Susan
Oh Corey would be so sad if he knew you were killing his best friends...he loves these little guys and carries them along while playing outside - always making sure to leave them on a leaf in the planter outside our front door. One night he even came out of his room like two and a half hours after he had been put to bed...he needed to check on his "sthlug." :)
You are so heartless. They were just looking for a little food. Have you seen Emily's blog its pathetic I set it up for her but as you can see she hasn't even touched it. I envy your garden I long to have on of my own, dumb military I curse them and their rules.
slugs!! i've been seeing a LOT of their trails (i noticed them just this morning actually) when I'm out walking the Buckwheat. haha The Buckwheat.
Anyway - you really are that grossed out by them?!?! I guess if they were ATTACKING in numbers like those, I would be too. blaaah slimy things. But they are so cute with those little antennae that move in and out. I know you think so!! Stop lying. and go get your beer. haha!
I love your posts. Mark is leaving on Tues. we need to do something STAT. :) I'll miss your green things now that the slugs are on attack. Just remember: Bear Grylls would probably eat them. PROTEIN.
GROSS! You sound like me! Except we have a problem with ANTS! Oh how I hate ANTS... short story for ya, I was in the kitchen trying to cook dinner, and low and behold I saw a trail of ants next to the stove! I was so tired of seeing them that I got this idea to catch as many as I could and hold them over the HOT burner! So I did, ( we have a flat top stove ) and watched them fall off the paper I was holding and watch them pop and burn to a crisp! ( that sounds bad too huh ) :) I got my oldest, Ethan into doing it. I enjoyed it. :) And in my defense.... if they were OUTSIDE I wouldn't even touch them, but because they were in my HOUSE and invading my territory, I had to do something. :)
